Qualstar 3402 & 3404 9-Track Tape Drives

Qualstar makes a 1600 bpi/3200 bpi autoloading 9-track tape drive with your choice of Rackmount (3402) or Desktop cabinet (3404).

Available with Pertec interface, the Qualstar 3402/4 tape drive transfers 1600 bpi data at 125ips and provides streaming tape performance in a low profile, 5.25" high package (half height). The Qualstar 3402/4 will read and write mainframe information in ASCII or EBCDlC formats using labeled or unlabeled tapes with fixed or variable length records on DOS, NetWare, UNIX, Windows, OS/2, NT, VMS, or MAC 0/S. Supported platforms include IBM PC, Macintosh, RS/6000, AS/400, Sun, DEC, HP 9000, Data General, SGl, Unisys, and others.

Features include a comprehensive set of diagnostic tools built into each drive, including automatic calibration, self test, maintenance reminders, and performance monitoring functions. The digital display gives reporting of all drive functions and diagnostics.

Complete PC installation kit includes 3402/4 9-track drive, a quick 16-bit Pertec controller, manuals and cable. SCSI versions of 3402/3404 drives are also built for Sun, IBM RS6000 and IBM AS400 workstations. Tell us what you're hooking it up to when you order.
